Authentic Thai food

I am jonesing for good Thai food after my last trip to Bangkok. I can't go back to Chilli & Spice and those yuppie places in SoHo! Where do the Thai people in Hong Kong go to eat?

Pad Thai in Wanchai is not bad. Cafe Siam is not too bad too.

Cafe Siam is not as good as its price, IMHO. The best for me, so far, is that little place along Lockhart in Wan Chai, next to Coyote. I forgot its name, though.

Chilli Club is good basic Thai food. Not too expensive but fast and tasty.

In my experience, the only area to get authentic thai food in HK is in Kowloon City... Yup, where the vast majority of the Thais live :P

My favourite thai restaurant here is Thai Son.

If you want proper authentic Thai food and don't mind a bit of travelling, I recommend the one in Tung Chung. I cannot remember the name but it's right next to the historic Tung Chung Fort...

Thai own, it's one of them old Spanish Villa thingy where they live upstairs and run a restaurant downstairs. The food was amazing, just like what my ex used to cook (god how I miss her)

Discovered completely by chance last week. Highly recommended. A bit of scenic walking around as well, it will be a good day out for you...

You've got me interested. Mind passing on some simple travelling instructions?

lol What we did last week was we took the MTR to Tung Chung, hopped on a blue cab asked for the Tung Chung Fort. Took us only 2 mins to the fort.

Once you got off just keep walking along the main road and it's two minutes up on your left. Cannot miss it...

Or alternatively you can try that Pakistani restaurant right next to the fort. I haven't tried it myself but like that Thai place, they are self-run too...
