Focus Groups?

A friend of mine told me about the focus group that she had joined in US.
Is there any similar thing in HK? If yes, then where can I get the details from?

In that case go to.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focus_group

In hoity toity circles it is known as navel gazing and a hot topic recently has been U.G. Krishnamurti[the late great etc]

He is rumoured to have said that going to the pub was the same as going to the temple, proving no doubt that he is worthy of some focus.

Are you talking about a market research focus group? Market research firms (Synovate, TNS, AC Nielsen, etc.) conduct them all the time. You have to have the characteristics of the population that they are trying to sample for their client. Typically, they would invite suitable candidates to participate (for a modest reward) and not the other way around. If someone specifically wanted to be in a focus group, it could create a sampling error to allow a self-invited person into the group.

Sampling error is statistical.. What this would be would be an all too common case of bad recruitment.....
