Hi,

My husband and I, with our 10-month old baby are moving to HK this summer. We want to find an apartment in the Mid-levels. Our budget is 20k/m.

We are basically looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom, 2bath, preferably with a maid room. Others that are nice to have, but not absolutely necessary are: close to supermarket or wet market, not noisy, seaview, a pool.

Could anyone give me some advice on buildings or agents to contact?

Conduit Road, Midlevels
- Elegant Terrace has maids room + pool but more than 20K.
- Scenecliff, pool, tennis court
- Reality Gardens, pool

For 20K you will most probably get under 900 square foot appartment in midlevels

Conduit Road is near the midlevels escalator so its close to the wet market and supermarket

Unfortunately, I don't think 20/k would get you much in Mid-Levels. Have you considered other locations?

Agree with climber07 .. 20K will not get you something with a view and a pool in Central. Look at something a bit further away.

How about Rednaxela? Does anyone live there or know of the building? Is it true that some posts on Gohome or out of date or even fake and used by RE agents to lure people?

It seems that we need to increase our budget if we want to live in the Mid-levels.

Yes, unfortunately there are a lot of such posts on gohome. However, owner listings are usually genuine.

Avoid the reviews on there ... I know atleast 3 out of 7 or 8 of the reviews of the place where we live are just false or have been placed by folks who are seriously upset and probably does not reflect their long term opinion of the place.

I'd do some broad searches on sites like that and centanet.com and see what areas you can get the desired apartments in the range you're looking at.

Hong Kong is a fairly well connected place -- if you don't mind a 20-30 minute commute a number of options open up -- within your parameters. Kennedy Town, Parts of Pokfulam, Happy Valley (may be), Quarry Bay, Taikoo Shing etc. Even more options are available if you look at the outlying islands which are again within 30-40 minutes from Central.
