I am planning to emply a domestic helper who has jsut given the required 1 months notice to her employer.

Can anyone tell me what the procedure is with respect to making an appkication to employ her. Is it simple enough to make the application myself or would you recommend I make use of the services of an agency. I have been quoted $3000 by one agency.

Hi,

There is no need at all to use an agency. I employed my helper after she left her previous employer. She did all the paperwork herself and just provided the forms for me to complete and everything went very smoothly. So unless someone knows otherwise I cannot see any reason for using an agency.

Under the new government of Philipinnes, your new domestic helper will need to return to P.I before working for you, there she is required to stay fpr two months, to do some bs course, then she will need to pay 10000 pesos to come back,

mind you, this policy, is under the spotlight, as the money goes directly to the president, and hopefully it will be abolished,

If anyone knows if it has or if there are any changes, let me know, because I am also trying to employ a terminated dh.
