| SCAM Warning Hi, I recently made a BIG mistake with an investment that turned out to be anything but an investment. I thought if I shared my experience then maybe others could be spared the pain I've gone through. Several weeks ago I got a call from Japan (I live in Hong Kong). The guy explained about good investments for expats and he said his company offered guaranteed investments trading auto parts that have already been pre-sold to customers. Since they were pre-sold there was no risk. They used investor capital to buy the parts and then pass them along at a small premium. He said i would get 7% per transaction after banking fees. I thought that was reasonable and I agreed to invest. I figured I could do it several times a year and make a lot more than 7%. The long and the short of it is that the guy stole my money. I invested US$50,000 and now it is gone. I asked about my investment repeatedly and he said to go away. <personal details deleted> Last edited by KnowItAll; 29-03-2007 at 11:17 AM. |
