Cool Flying From Hk To Australia

Hi,
I haven't been back to Sydney for a year and a friend told me that they are not allowing laptop/notebooks in hand carry luggage.
Can anyone who has flown to Australia recently verify this?

Cheers!

Not true. Laptops are fine. You just have to extract them from your bag at the security point so that they can be inspected/x-rayed separately. This now applies both ex-HKG (only within the last few weeks) and ex-Aus (been like that for years).

yeppo, as PDLM says. only changes in HK airport recently is the new limits on carry-on liquids. Laptops are cool. My wife went through with her laptop on route to Sydney just yesterday.
