Wink Residence Permit

My partner and I (both male) currenly live and work in the Netherlands. My partner's company has requested he transfer to the Hong Kong branch. I was wondering because we are not a married couple, would I qualify for a dependent visa as I won't be working in Hong Kong? Or would I have to apply for a seperate visa / residence permit on my own merit because of the nature of our relationship?
The company will pay for our move, housing, and assist in getting us settled in Hong Kong and my partner's salary will be more than enough to support the both of us. Is this something we have to prove in order to be successful?

Thanks.

Nope - you would have to get a Visa in your own right, either through Employment, Study, Training, Investment (in a business), or as a Capital Entrant (meaning investing HK$6.5M in HK-based assets.

Absolutely no dependent visa for unmarried couples and marriage can only be between a man and a woman.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. It was only one of the options anyway so it's not the end of the world us. Besides, there are plenty of countries who'll welcome us as a couple.

Thanks again!!

I know you posted a few months ago, but still wanted to drop you a line quickly.

My partner and I are not married either, but I have been here in HK for years with him (15 yrs!). I just come in on a Holiday visa (chopped at the airport on arrival) and that's for 3 months.
We travel in and out a bit, mostly holidays but when I need to do a visa run I would just go to China (although not at the moment) or Macau.
The customs people are really easy going and never ask why I am back and forth.. and if they comment just tell them your partner is living in HK and you are visiting.. they will be more than happy with that.
HK is such a cool place to live for a while and who knows, when you get here you might find a project you want to do.. there are so many things going on in HK.
