Mortgage on a dependent's visa

I am just wondering whether anyone knows if the banks in HK will allow someone who is on a dependent's visa (with husband who is HK ID holder) to have a mortgage. Also, how long would a person have to have been holding a job for the bank to consider a mortgage? In the UK, the general rule is at least 6 months but anyone who is resident is allowed to have a mortgage as long as finances can be proved. Would appreciate some advice.

Would have to be a joint mortgage with your husband (who will have to show that he has the resources to pay the full payment ... good credit etc ... ).
