Government Rate/Management Fee

In a rental situation... who should normally pay the government rate and management fee charges?

It varies - if the ad says the rent is "inclusive" that means the landlord pays. If it's "exclusive", that means you pay.

Government rates are supposed to be paid by the landlord. As for managment fees, they are not always included. Make sure to have it written down in the lease agreement.

as to who "normally" pays, its without a doubt the landlord.

if any rates are outstanding to the government, or fees to the management office, neither would have your name on their file, only the landlord's. i doubt they would have a claim against you.
