Port mobile to online?

I still have my Canadian Cell phone active and want to cancel it. Wanted to wait till I could keep number. Law just changed so number porting is good to go. Anyway I can port to something online that is nice and cheap mainly just to retain my number? Skype can't port in Canadian numbers and Vonage is rather expensive.

I've sent their marketing manager an email to ask them.

Not too sure how this number porting works with VoIP services.
