Now I know never to fly BA

A BRITISH Airways passenger travelling first class has described how he woke up on a long-haul flight to find that cabin crew had placed a corpse in his row.

The body of a woman in her seventies, who died after the plane left Delhi for Heathrow, was carried by cabin staff from economy to first class, where there was more space. Her body was propped up in a seat, using pillows.

The woman's daughter accompanied the corpse, and spent the rest of the journey wailing in grief

Always wondered why I don't really like BA but this is pretty much offputting.

So what do you suggest they do? You are aware that in the F cabin the passenger would have been several feet from any others. If they left her in the (full) economy cabin she would have been propped up against other people. Every airline I know of would have done the same thing (except SQ which on it ULH 340-500s has a special compartment for corpses).

Put the body in the cabin crew rest area perhaps?

The one or two I have seen (not on a BA747 admittedly) would be pretty damn difficult to get a corpse in and out of (particularly once rigor mortis had set it). I really don't have a problem with this at all.

Surely its harder to put a body from economy into first class than onto the cabin crew rest area floor.

But nooo the cabin crew will need somewhere to hide rather than actually do some work.

I don't think so - the cabin crew rest areas are normally either up or down a very narrow staircase or ladder. (Not sure about BA's). From economy to first is very simple straight up the aisle and there's a lot more room to manoeuvre round an F seat than in the crew rest area.

Should have put the body in the cargo hold where it's a lot cooler.
