Baby in tow! Parkview vs Sherwood Serviced Apt We are moving to Hong Kong and have been offered a choice of Parkview or Sherwood apartment (part of Hanlun Habitats) for 4- 6 weeks between April - May until our shipment arrives in HK and we find a place to move to. We have a 15 month old toddler who is getting increasingly active. As far as I can see Parkview seems to have lots of facilities but be a bit cut off - -Sherwood seems in the heart of things but have no facilities. We would be offered 2 bedrooms at both places. Please let me know which you would go for? Any bad experiences of either place? Sorry if this is an often repeated question but I am starting to panic now that the move is getting close and want to at least make the right decision with this one! Really would appreciate your input. Thank you.

Parkview without a doubt. Your toddler will love you! There's a playroom, outdoor playgrounds, pool. Loads of other kids to socialise with. And you're only 15 mins from Wanchai, so not entirely cut off!

We just arrived in HK last week and are staying in Sherwood Court while searching for a flat and awaiting our furniture. We have a 3 year old daughter. The building is old and nothing to get excited about - our flat is a 2 bdrm but very small - albeit high end. Great location as far as being in the middle of everything but really tough with a young child. Challenging to use a buggy around here with all the hills, steps and escalator - and a nightmare to let the child walk alone bc there is no room to roam so to speak. Botanical Gardens/Zoo a 5-7 min walk from here which is fab and has a great playground too but I feel like I am living there at the moment. In addition tons of construction taking place all around so it is really noisy - and currently some taking place in the building which is a killer at nap time. We looked at Parkview as a potential place to live - looks amazing - facilities are terrific - especially with a young child. If I had a choice I would go with Park View for your sanity. Good luck - you'll love HK!

Thanks very much for both replies. Apparently the company has already paid a deposit on Sherwood but given your responses I think I will offer to pay the forfeit fee myself to live at Parkview! Stilli, we stayed at Lily Court for 2 weeks in January and I had to walk everywhere with the baby bjorn due to eh stroller issues - but the bubu is walking now and NO chance he'll let me stuff him in there now :-( By the way did you find the Caine Road playground yet? That was quite a lifesaver for me - I used to take the escalator down in the morning before 10 am and then it was a fairly easy stroll over there - then you can take a bus back up to Robinson Road. I also checked out the Kennedy Town play room (government) which was easy to get to - took the stroller down the escalator and then bus Number 5b I think - only took me 15 minutes and we had a great time there and totally free too. Anyway just thought I would mention to you in case helpful. Thanks again xx

thnx for the playground tips - we have been frequenting the zoo and botanical gardens - and the playground there is great as well. curious to know if you have decided where you will live. We are having a hard time deciding - currently deciding between DB and Southside. Pros and cons everywhere so it is tough. best of luck to you!
