Mother's coming to visit!!!

My mother (49 yrs young) is coming to visit me for her first time to Hong Kong. I have a couple of general ideas of what we'll do... The Peak, Horse races, and an junk boat tour --- but do you have anything that was great when you had family come to visit?
Don't think we'll be hitting up LKF, but you never know!!!

Taking the ferry to Po Toi and having lunch on the island, visiting the HK History Museum in Kowloon or the Heritage Museum in Sha Tin, shopping at Ladies Market and Stanley Market, walking through Flower Market and Bird Market in Mongkok, musing through Lascar Row and Hollywood street in Central, Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei, walking through Sai Kung village and eating on the wharf, dim sum, dim sum, dim sum... and don't forget a day trip to Macau!

A short day trip to Macau and the Lowu shopping centers also keep parents entertained.

You could also think of taking her to the Big Buddha(Lantau) to enjoy a cable car ride! and Stanley isnt such a bad place too!
Macau certainly is going to be a day well spent!

is your mom into antique?

a lot of the mothers find the antique shops in hollywood road fascinating. tips is bring her on her last day of visit so she won't have much to spend by then and remember to bargain

Now that the new Plaza is open in Discovery Bay, it's gorgeous. It's like a resort. Lots of cool places in all price ranges. The ferry is modern and fast - abt 22 minutes.

I say High Tea at the Intercontinental Hotel. Took my hubby's mom there and she loved it. The Intercontinental has a gorgeous view and a much nicer tea-time than the Penninsular, in my opinon.

How about Cheung Sha Beach on Lantau - that South African restaurant is nice. A cool day out but a bit of a pain to get to. Or a day spa?
