| I would also be interested in knowing the answer to this, but I have a very strong feeling that dogs are not allowed to cross freely. Reason for this is that China seems to be having a rabies problem, and HK is very cautious when it comes to pet importation. I doubt taking your pet to Shenzhen would be a problem, but I would expect problems bringing them back. Can anyone confirm this? |

| Unfortunately, no. Pets coming from the Mainland must be put under four months of quarantine. You must arrange this before coming to Hong Kong with the government kennel. Your dog must also be at least two months old, have a microchip implant, and have all the required health paperwork and shots (i.e. must be done in a government facility). You may also need a pet travel certificate from Shenzhen (which will also require the aforementioned paperwork). For more information: http://www.afcd.gov.hk/english/quara...uarantine.html |
