| | non-filipino Nannying payscale in Hong Kong Hi,
I'm helping expat friends in Hong Kong find nannying work. They have HK ID cards etc...
I'm trying to get an indication of:
a) what people get paid to do this
b) what nannying agencies charge for the service
My friends have had some nannying experience overseas, are over 21, and looking at 3-12 month contracts.
Could anyone with experience on either end help expose the market prices with me on this thread?
All help much appreciated.

Also, there is undeniably a difference in payscales in the hong kong region. be it domestic help, english teaching, or child-care.
I suppose it wasn't me, but you, that has made it relevant?

| | | thanks to rani and KIA.
Nannyexperts will probably quote me for a nanny, but it is temp-agency-type companies like this that are cagey about wages, especially to new employees. This is precisely why i am asking in an open forum instead.
and... forgive my ignorance - what is a governess???

Ha Ha! A double-entendre if ever there was one! meanings. The meaning applied here is a Victorian word meaning 'tutor for girls' but in modern day British English it has come to mean something else if you look through the Personal Ads in certain magazines (so I have been told). High Court judges in Britain will be familiar with the latter meaning. I guess both types of Governess do spanking, lol

I do know what you mean about temp agencies being cagey. I've used them before to hire office staff. It's appalling the way the agency pays them. It is definately a bargaining issue too. If the temp puts their foot down, they will get more of the fee. I have paid as much as $40,000 per month to a fellow who only got 28,000 of the fee I paid.
Pretty ridiculous.....made me think about opening a fair temp agency. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 07:54 PM.
