Smile A new home

After the recent thread about my situation has been closed. I am just asking for a little bit of advise this time.
I am looking to move out of Tin Shui Wai after what has happened. I want to commute everyday possibly from Central. I just want a simple place, possibly in Sheung Wan, I don't care how small it is, aslong as it's safe. I would rather be situated in Central because obviously there are more Westerners. I don't want to be paying a fortune though....remember I am only 18 years old

Hope you can help
Kelly

uhhh Hey Kelly,

I wouldn't suggest Central, Sheung Wan, Causeway Bay etc if you are looking for deals. I would suggest maybe East Kowloon. I used to rent a place in Wong Tai Sin for $2,200 a month and it was not furnished, but a bedroom with Bathroom/kitchen type thing.

If you plan on staying out in Tin Shui Wai area for employment I may even suggest West Kowloon/NT (Mei Foo or Tsuen Wan.) That way you are right on the West Rail.

As much as prices are good you may want to avoid Tsim Sha Tsui-Sham Shui Po if you are looking for HK's safest districts.

East HK island may also be ok. Esp Taikoo/NP areas.

I think it is well documented how much I hate the idea of living in an "expat" area. So I may not be the best judge, but I am just trying to think of your wish for lower prices.

Exactly.... You would be OK anywhere on the island. Looks like you were particularly unlucky with the location.

Actually if you're looking to share, I just met a nice gal who's also looking for a new place to rent very soon. She's an actress/model, from Australia, and is looking in the Wan Chai area. I'll also ask her if she's interested in sharing too.
