Can anyone recommend an ESF for my Year 10 Daughter

Hi all.

I am a Brit who will be moving to Hong Kong in July, and i have a 14 year old daughter who will be starting school in year 10 after the summer break.

I have made enquiries and there are places available in all ESF secondary schools apart from King George V. My daughter is a very keen soccer player and so i am looking for a school that offers girls soccer as part of after-school activities, plus other sports.

I am looking for information on which ESF is performing well in terms of grades, and also has a good mix of Western and Chinese pupils.

If anyone has any information that can help me in the final decision, it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Leigh

I think you get allocated which one depending on the area you live in. If you want a specific school you need to live near it.

Quarry Bay is supposed to be pretty good for academics. Not too sure about the sports program there.

Quarry Bay's a primary school. IMO West Island is good for athletics, the nicest (and newest) of the ESF secondary schools on HK side, and it has a good mix of students. All ESF schools in HK have outstanding students, although Island has a rep for some pretty crazy things happening. I'll spare you the gritty details.

I went through 13 years of ESF education, and I know at least one person who graduated from each of the ESF schools here, so I have a fair bit of knowledge about the system.

I went to South Island when I was that age and had a great time. No idea if they offer football - had a nice pool though...
