Construction on Salisbury

Does anyone know what is being built or done on the corner of Canton Road and Salisbury Road in TST? It looks pretty ridiculous right now with the trees and old buildings being supported by those steel columns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how long you have been in Hong Kong, but that is not a new construction site. I remember coming here for my first time in 2003 and it was not an open area. Don't remember what was going on, but I know some work was going on.

It is the former marine police HQ. They are making it in to a hotel type thing. Here is the wiki on it

yes, they are turning it into a hotel. it's a nice and very old building and I guess turning it into a hotel is better than flattening it for a modern development. Having said that, it's a declared monument so would have been pretty good as a museum, but I guess that wouldn't earn them as much money.
