Ok I have a semi strange question.

I want to buy a new PC or a PC as I haven't had one in Hong Kong yet. Well apart from the Laptop. I went and got a few quotes from the Wan Chai computer centre and have a few idea's on waht I want.

The question is:
Where should I purchase it from? Is it safe to buy from the Computer Centre? Is there a website that I can purchase from?

I want to get the following:
Asus MoBo. Intel
Intel Core 2 Duo 6700
Geforce 8800 GTX
4 Gigs DDR2 667 Ram (Branded)
320gig Western Dig HDD
DVD Burner (Branded)
700 watt Power supply (Branded)
Cooler Master case

Not bought a custom built desktop system in years so I have no clue who is good / bad.

Go to one of the computer stores there with your list and ask how much it would cost for them to build you one.

Get about 3 quotes and take it from there.

Sure its safe to buy from there.

As Jimbo says, take your list to them and get quotations. Why a 700w psu?

I want to build it myself.

700w as I want to add in a few more 320gig HDD's and get another 8800 using SLI. Also want to add a few more things and don't like power issues.

I can get away with a 550 but when you start adding more graphics cards you can head into problems.

Corsair Memory
Silverstone, Enermax or PC Power for the PSU
Burner will get a Asus (if possible)

Is Corsair the preferred memory chip these days over Kingston?

Corsair, Kingston, OCZ, all good

If you plan on adding another video card for SLI, make sure you get one of the few boards that support SLI for Intel processors (will be based on the nvidia 680 SLI chipset).

Much of a muchness really but the Corsiar tends to be better for gaming....if only JUST.

shat man, that is one serious gaming platform.

i reckon its easily going over 10,000Hk.
Anyway it is safe to buy from the Computer Centre, although u must work out though that if there is anything wrong with the parts, u usually have to take it upon urself to go the Hardware vendor, which can be located at Industrial areas. Some shops will allow u to take it back to them, but will take longer.

One thing u have to get is a 24 inch monitor!
