don't bring your wireless router over- i brought mine over and it got burnt out by the voltage here so I eneded up buying one in Sham shui po for about HK$370.

also when you're here you can get universal power strips (between $45-60 in Sham Shui Po) so you don't have to have separate adapter plugs for the US cords.

As for my receiver and speakers, I brought them over since they're nice and bought a local power transformer (around $115) which works nicely. I bought a new region-free/multi region dvd player in HK($500) since my US one can only play region 1, whereas HK it's region 3.

Basically with all your equipment check on the back to see if it falls within the 110v-220/240 range. then it should technically work. if it's 110v only then it won't work in HK.
computer equipment is cheap here too so you can just get it here.

As for flat screen tv/LCD screen, I was debating on what I should buy in HK. I actually splurged and bought a light portable home theater projector from Broadway. I know that I'm going to be moving in the next couple years again and don't want to deal with selling my old TV/monitor and buying a new one wherever I go so with the projector I could take it anywhere as a carryon. plus it makes movie watching a much funner experience as I have an entire wall as my screen!

Thank you so much! So helpful! So I shouldn't bring the flatscreen to HK huh? Since it won't work? (system difference)? Also, did you router burn because it did not have international voltage? I think I'll need some transformer power strips for sure! Thanks for the tip.
