The words to look out for and avoid are "milk drink". That means reconstituted or stuff taken away or added or generally buggered about. I find the plain milk here to be fine except that I can't find semi-skimmed (2%) that isn't messed around. Kowloon Dairy or Trappist or Dairy Farm - whichever is cheapest; those are all pasteurised, homogenised, not UHT.

Why not? And where do you buy your eggs, meat, milk and most veg from?
That seems a bit paranoid to me.

Yes, that is actually the one I mean...not "PURE" Incidently, this milk is used by the Starbucks here in their latte's/mochas, so you know it's good...not to start an argument over whether or not Starbucks is worthy of imitation!

Not difficult to find out what needs eggs and milk though!

I assume you never eat local food with local produce then? Absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

Being from NZ and growing up on dairy it is hard to switch to milk that tastes so different but the PURE is pretty good but it doesn't have a long life - probably due to the time to get it here.
Have you tried Soy Milk. Sanitarium So Good Lite or Calcium is the best I think - often cheaper that fresh milk and can be stored without refrigeration before you open it. Beware though most soy milks have a fair bit of sugar in them.
I also choose not to buy 'local' milk, eggs or meat and I go out of my way to buy NZ or Australian cheese and NZ Fresh n Fruity yoghurts but plenty of Park n Shop or Wellcomes have these. I'm sure the local versions are fine I just prefer the taste of what I know.
