moving to HK from NY - love the name brand samples here (paul smith this weekend to all you nyorkers)... any similar sales in HK? i know much of the stuff is actually made in HK (including Paul Smith) - any thoughts on where we can find 'underground' deals of HK-/China-made name brands? (not knockoffs - the real thing)

You won't find quite the same kind of sale here (unless I'm seriously missing something).

There's a decent outlet called the I.T. Sale store in a mall called Silvercord in Tsim Sha Tsui. That's the best I've seen in HK. Has youthy brands such as Baby Jane for cacharel.

There are also fashion outlets for some high end designer label clothing (Joyce and Lane Crawford stores) in Horizon Plaza in Ap Lei Chau. But it's seriously picked over stuff, and often still pricey.

Some are by personal invitation only.

You need to be 'known' to get an invite for example to the paul smith sample sale.

So don't build your hopes up. Takes a lot of research to find them but Ralph Lauren does have them now and again too.

And yes I have been to them and no I can't get you in because I lost the contact.

That being said, I picked up some Paul Smith boxers here for $1.50 US a piece. 100% authentic too.

That's correct. You have to really hunt around sometimes, but there are good deals to be had.

And the outlet stores in mongkok and prince edward too.

prince edward is better though as they usually have agnes b there.
