Hi Everyone,

I got some problem. Kinda....

I just bought this Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6USM lense last Sunday but the very next day I received a similar lense as a gift from husband. Now I have 2 exact same lenses.

I want to sell the lense I just bought and invest in a new macro lense but when I called the shop (CMK at Shatin Plaza), they said they would not refund or exchange

Can you tell me where I can sell this second-hand-brand-new lense? Or anyone want to take it in? I will happy to go for a loss. I bought it at HKD4350 but will happy to accept HKD3700.

Please help.

Hmm... too bad you're not selling the other EF-S lens... because I've just recently been looking up and am thinking about buying the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8'

I'm still looking around camera shops, but I also haven't noticed if any were buying 2nd hand lenses. Like others have said, try the online classifieds. Good luck!

At Kimberley Road in TST you can find second hand shops for photo equipment.

they deal in NEW & USED camera equipment. go up the stairs in the back of the store, the used equipment is on the second floor. you will get more for you lens of course selling it yourself, (as opposed to a shop that will resell).

I am really surprised that store is not accommodating you, especially since you will buy another lens, do they know you are buying the new lens from them???

Thanks WalkAbout!, Yes I'm very disappointed. They told me that it's store's policy. I feel that they just want to make the sale, once it's made, their business finishes.
