Wi-fi radio in HK I'm trying to buy an Acoustic Energy Wi-fi radio in HK. This is a standalone product that can play internet radio through its own speakers taking the signal from a wifi network. I've seen something similar by Soundbridge but it does not receive Real Networks radio streams and so would not I believe receive the BBC listen again streams.i The AE one does - their website is at http://www.acoustic-energy.co.uk/Pro...radio/WiFi.asp They claim to have a HK distributor but he doesn't reply to emails or answer the phone. I've looked in the obvious computer malls and asked in some of the shops which seem to specialise in that kind of gear al to no avail. Any ideas?

Without wanting to sound too obvious but you could visit the AE distributor in Tsuen Wan or perhaps get a friend in the UK to buy and ship it out here.

thanks Discobay yes the thought of getting it shipped from the UK had occurred - I just thought it would be quicker and just as cheap to get it here in this great electronic goods marketplace. The thought of going to the distributor had not occurred. I guess I was instinctively dubious that there would be any one there if they weren't answering their email or phone. And it has the feel of an office rather than somewhere that carries stock. And, to be honest, as a newbie here, I don't even know where Tsuen Wan is. all the best and any further ideas welcomed

I ended up buying a digidock a few weeks ago and can get a fair number of internet stations. http://www.digidock.com/products/Hom...ent/mp7301.htm Is that something that meets your specs? Last edited by KnowItAll; 02-03-2007 at 03:10 PM.

It may be more cost-effective to buy a Pocket PC. I bought specially to listen to internet radio. They cost more than these standalones, but they fit in your pocket and can do so many more things. You can wire them up to a hi-fi, if you want greater sound, or just want to play it out in the room.
