Thanks very much Guys.

Andrew

well my saga took a while as all my paperwork was in London and the rules kept on changing over the past year or so in my circumstances.

So I submitted all relevant forms and paperwork in January this year and it takes about a week for them to post you an ackowledgment then its the waiting game, I waited about 3 weeks after and went to Wanchai to chase them up, Had the first interview with an officer there and completed and signed some statements. Waited a further week then got a phone call to say No they need something else, Then yesterday I got the call from somebody senior asking me to come in.

So all in all, It took about 6 weeks or so, usually quicker but because of the go slow with chinese new year it dragged on.

I'll collect the I.D in two weeks time, Make sure you chase them up on a regular basis as well otherwise it'll drag and drag and take months rather than weeks.

Only annoying thing was that I wasn't expecting to have my picture taken so soon and I was suffering from a bad hair day! haha

Faith

Yes dinner would indeed be great! And you need to introduce me to your 'friends'

That's quick! In Australia, it takes between 2 to 9 months to get permanent residency. And you have to basically sign your life away, medical checks, finances, big fees, etc...

Moving on myself from next week (still in HK) - will let you know! The only way you'd get a job these days with my current lot is if you're willing to relocate to India (at your own expense).
