Hi, I am relocating in less than a month to Hong Kong from the US. I know that most electronics including TVs etc will not work in Hong Kong. What about lamps? I read that as long as I could change the bulbs and change the plug, it will all be fine. Is this true - are Hong Kong bulbs similar in structure to the US (threading) or are they like India bulbs (a half turn and they lock into place) I am awfully fond of some of my recently acquired lamps. Thanx, Kram

You can easily buy bulbs of either type (screw or bayonet) in HK. If you change the plus and the bulbs then the lamps will work unless they are the halogen type with a transformer/dimmer, in which case you may need a 110/220V tranformer as well.

I brought my lamps from japan to HK recently and just need to change the light bulb to use them here in HK. Also the power cord plug is different so you would not an adaptor type of plug which you can easily get here when you buy the bulbs.
