You can do bodybuilding at pretty much any gym with weights. Physical, California, Pure, Fitness First etc. There are plenty of choices.

There are a few underground ones, but they're pretty much restricted to locals.

I've seen one on Queen's Road West in Sai Ying Pun (Western district of HK Island). It's called Chi Tat Gym. It's upstairs in a residential building. There's no number on the sign for it, and when I tried to buzz them, they didn't open the door for me.

I've also seen one near Mongkok, but I don't remember the name or location.

Good luck my Dutch friend! I hope you find a hardcore gym. If you just want to lift weights, they're as heavy at Fitness First as they are at the underground gyms, just without the grime and steroids Well, steroid use is pretty common in HK, but you know what I mean.

I just joined Olympia Gym in Prince Edward... price is about $350/month ($300 without locker rental). It's an ok place, if you were throwing up some "light weight" you might have to go around to the bench's to grab extra plates...

on a hardcore scale, i rate this gym a 3 out of 10... you know somethings up when they only have 4 x 20 kg plates at the squat rack ahahah

lol. There are plenty of plates at my gym. I don't really see people going too heavy though.

Some guy was doing 1/4" pulldowns with about 20 kg and told me it was important to work on muscle density, since lifting heavy would mean you'd get fat when you stopped working out. Interesting character. My brother and I always chuckle thinking about the strange pulldowns he was doing...

Thanks for your reply Guys.

As soon as I move to hk (it will be mid may) I will search for a nice gym with heavy dumbbells, and off course I will keep you posted.
At the moment I?m training in a underground gym, advantage, not crowded at all because equipment is not that new, all rusty and heavy equipment. As well I was hoping the same will be applicable for these gyms in HK.

Hopefully see you soon, catch up and drink a shake ( and bier).

Bump on this thread.
As an avid bodybuilder myself and possibly moving to Hong Kong next year I hope some of you can help me. Is it true steroids can be purchased without prescription? Also if so what is available and the price?

Thank you.
