Dead computer repair services

Our home computer is dead. Dell said it is a virus (lsass.exe) and that we would have to reinstall Windows. They said this would destroy all our data files, unless we had someone copy them first.
So, can anyone recommend a service that can recover files from a dead computer and then reinstall Windows? Back home we'd run to the "Geek Squad", not sure what to do here.
In a perfect world the service would come to me, rather than me carting the computer all over HK, but beggars can't be choosers.

I use Jimmy from Computer Trouble Shooters.
He's Canadian Chinese with perfect English, a real gentleman.

His mobile number is 94649882. He comes to you !

I found him through another friend and he is now helping two other friends of mine.

Good luck.

I would insist on payment only if your data is retrieved.

Also, it would be very wise to install an anti virus program (like AVG) once your system is up and running.

We have Norton and Macafee on this computer. Not sure how the virus made it in. Also had sysfader a little while ago.
Our guess is that these viruses got in before we updated the programs after the move.

Yup and get yourself a firewall and spybot 1.4.

If he can't get the data off the hd then whats the point in paying him good money for? Most decent callout services have a no fix no fee type of policy in place.

Works for me.
Any chance this was caused by Skype? Everything seemed to be working fine until we downloaded Skype.

Jimbo--we have spybot, but a little late. Can you recommend a good firewall?
