Boarding a cat in HK

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations, opinions, etc on boarding a cat in Hong Kong.

Preferred options I'm told are to have someone look after the cat at your place or have the cat go stay at someone else's while you're away, but I'm not sure that I know anyone who'd be inclined or a good choice.

So I'm thinking of boarding. Personally, that would be my preferred option as I wouldn't have to impose on someone and I'd know the cat's being looked after (or so I'd hope).

As such, can anyone recommend a place or not recommend one?

Any experiences with this in Hong Kong?

Thanks!

Two recommendations for you:

1/ Home pet-sitting - these guys come to your home. Used them for my own cats for over 2 years now & always very happy w/ 'em. www.wishyouwereherehk.com

2/ Kennel boarding - these guys run a decent cattery. Haven't used them myself, but heard good things from others.

Roughly how much does that "wish you were here" place costs you, say for a 2 week trip?

Err...don't want to step on any toes so I'll probably let Mark (the owner) answer that one...send him a mail (wishyouwerehere@netvigator.com). He's pretty responsive.

Yup, according to their website, you have to contact them for a quote. Says they do an hour a day. Sounds good if you really don't have anyone. Though for an hour a day, I think I could probably get someone I know to do that. Not sure if an hour's enough for my kitten.

Ferndale Kennel sounds nice. Anyone else have experience with that one or another one? Open to any other suggestions.

Thanks

HKNikkers is on a distinguished road
I've got a cat sitter - Bonnie and she's great. She comes in for an hour and really spends quality time with my cats. She's even got my timid male crawling all over her for attention and he doesn't got to just anyone. The first time she sat for us it took him 10 days for him to let her pat him but the next time he remembered her and came straight to her.

My cats are older so they just really sleep and sloth LOL! But Bonnie gets them playing and because there is 2 of them, they'll amuse each other.

Yes, the setup sounds interesting:

"Our modern indoor air-conditioned cattery offers the cats three level comfort. The top floor consists of a enclosed quiet room with a synthetic fur lined bed, then our residents may come down a level through their own peep hole to the lounging shelf below, also fur lined and then onto the ground floor which has a litter box and dining area. If any of our residents come with a friend they can have adjoining condos, giving them double the space. Our residents once settled get to exercise daily in our purpose built gym with hidey holes, a covered litter tray, dining area and scratching/climbing posts. No where in our cattery will you find any bars or wire netting."

I'll have to try trek out there sometime and check it out.

Is she also a professional cat sitter? If so, any contact info. Not sure if we'll go this route, but handy to have a few such potential people.
