furniture

Furniture in Singapore is about half the price it costs in the US. Now that we're seriously entertaining a move to HK, wondering how the furniture market is there as compared to Singapore. Also, is it hard to sell used furniture there (in case all our stuff doesn't fit into our new home)? Once our move is finalised, it's going to be REALLY fast, hence my inquiring about it now. Thanks! I like this site!

Tex, if its Indonesian / Thai furniture, I'd bet that its cheaper in Singapore.

Not sure about brand name designer furniture ...

Do keep in mind that while people consider HK expensive, HK does not have a sales tax which does keep prices down to a reasonable amount, unless you're looking at top end stuff.

Second hand stuff is fairly easy to sell .. You just needs to put a classified in the Sunday SCMP.

we found a bunch of nice furniture for reasonable prices in Macau. Might be worth looking into as well.

And there's always IKEA
