Rent dirtbike in HK?

I was just chatting with a colleague that said a former colleague of his used to live here. He apparently used to go somewhere and rent dirtbikes and ride just for fun. I am a total newbie at that but have a Yamaha R1, streetbike, at home. Would love to test it out.

There is a great place near Fanling, run by a local guy called Angus. He's a very talented MX/trials rider and provides great tuition for all experiences of riders. He runs training courses, which are very reasonably priced (MX training course is only $1200 for 4 x 2hr sessions, including bike and gear hire !).

The website is

http://www.mxclub.com.hk/

highly recommended.

Thanks a lot! Will check it out right away. The price seems extremely reasonable.

FYI: Renting snowmobiles, dirtbikes, motorcycles etc. in Sweden is very expensive so I have not bothered. My Yamaha R1 costs HK$40,000 in insurance per year. Real money is 15-20,000 since it's sitting in the garage for more than half the year.

Haha, but that's on a sunny day. Apart from that it is THE perfect mud and dirt vehicle

Do you drive the hayabusa here btw?

Hi,
Yes, every day. Mine is a '99 pre restricted model. 300kmh easily. Plastics a bit scuffed due to a taxi wanting my lane at the same time. He eventually admittted fault. Love the driving here.
Applied to get personal plate, 300 KMH or UR SLOW. Awaiting reply from License registration.

changing the topic slightly, sorry nikasp

Any idea whats happened to all the 2 stroke 250's in HK? Hardly ever see them anymore whereas a few years ago nsr250's etc were everywhere.

Just that I always wanted one and want to get an MC28.

Jimbo, have a look at these two local bike sites - loads of NSRs, you should be able to find an MC28 in there somewhere:

Cheers Bungle, just that I hadn't seen many around lately thus was wondering if they were being phased out by the government etc due to emmissions etc.

I miss the smell of 2 stroke exhaust fumes!
