Got them from Anima

goodkarma - i got my 2 dogs from Anima! i do volunteer jobs there, the dalmatian was initially for fostering, he was the third dog we've fostered. just to take care of his bitten ear until it gets better. but then we thought he'll never get a chance if he stay in the shelter and my husband and i have been toying with the idea of getting another dog anyway. i've done my research about his breed before finally signing the papers, but suffice to say i'm still dumbfounded on his energy level and lack of focus. and admittedly, the longer he's been with us, the more he's showing all these unwanted behaviour which were not present the first few weeks we got him. our guessed is he's getting bolder as he feels more secure?

i must say my other dog is "home-schooled" because there's no obedience school here in Macau and he's great, knows a lot of tricks too. but i'll try and contact rose, see if she's willing to come here and deal with this 4-yr. old rascal.

nina- i've checked that site beforehand, they quite have a radical/strict view about this breed in such that they believe deaf and partially deaf dalmatians must be put down to protect the breed. thanks for the tip about cham oil, will check more about it.

btw, i've just ordered a citronella spray collar that might be able to assist me. will let you all know how it goes.

Rose is very popular here. She will also be able to see if the dog actually needs medications or not.

I was visiting a friend a few weeks ago and he was so hyper about our food that it killed the fun I used to have with him. He was the cutest most wonderful mutt and now, for some reason, he is just nuts about food all the time.

I'm not sure if my friend will have it checked out but I hope so.

Hi folks, thought I'll give you an update about my food-obsessed dog. The cironella spray worked wonder on him, not only it straightened him out about snatching/jumping for food, he also now doesn't run away when off-leash. We continue to give him treats when he obeys us and this seemed to work too. He's still very excited when he knows he's going out for a walk so trying to disensitized him, we still have a long way to go on this area. I also learned to put a small fist-sized rock on his bowl of food to slow him down, this helps him to use his tongue to pick up the food rather than merely inhaling it all in one go.

I must say that he'd improved dramatically since we first got him and we're really happy. Now, if only he sits still for even a second .
