It started yesterday but it seems to be getting worse. It was running at 11% earlier today.

I am seeing right now 20-50% packet loss to Netvigators core network. It seems like portion that connects south east of kowloons adsl (MegaAccess/PPPoE) network that connects to Internet portion of the Netvigator network.

I am sure many of you are not having any problems, what I am seeing right now is a big problem.

I am not sure what IP exchange this portion of Kowloon is served by but it all ends up on this IMSBIZ router g0-0-0.wttbr01.imsbiz.com . wtt is the code name for the building, but I don't know where it is.

Here is what to do when you have a slow connection
When ever you have problems or slow performance on XP Start -> cmd
in the window type

tracert <URL> eg

tracert www.hk.com or what ever you pick.

I know talking to technical support is pointless. Even escalating to senior people is pointless. You can do that if you want.

I am posting it for the benefit of those people who are in Kowloon and find their broadband dog slow, they can find out why. Rather than having this forum operate or rumours:

Auser (kowloon)- "Gee it is slow today!"
Buser (mideleves) - "works really fast today getting 6mbit, are you sure it is not not spyware".

I think it would be better just to put actual facts, logs and figures pin pointing of what is going on rather than operate on the hear-say.

HK.com have you tried talking to these "senior" people in your jargan and showed them what you mean instead of a general slow speed complaint? Went to a store with printed off evidence?

Unfortunately that blob information exists for a long time and it is the lingo in which these issues are described with precision. If I dumb it down it may end up being totally inaccurate.

Forget trying to even report something like this and getting it fixed. Even simpler issues such as "they have installed the wrong type of circuit", take months to resolve, even with the help of top level management and lighting up rockets. Hopefully they will soon install the Megalink circuit they should have installed (which is VERY reliable ) and bypass their IP network. It even took me 2 months to figure out they got the wrong thing installed, so I wonder how many businesses get sold the lower quality broadband.

Even if PCCW staff want to help or fix it they say they problem they face is that no one knows who's responsible of what.

Someone will eventually figure out and fix this issue I mention above. Reporting it now would not be nice to those poor engineers they are on holiday.

It's not expensive. Maybe the question you should ask yourself is, is it value for money?
