***** to launch Vancouver services
14 February 2007
South China Morning Post

***** Transpacific Charter Airlines, a newly established Macau-based charter carrier, plans to launch non-stop flights from Macau to Vancouver in May with some seats available for as low as HK$888 for a one-way trip.

Founder Christopher Colbourne said the service, for which he is awaiting a licence, would have been launched from Hong Kong if the Civil Aviation Department had not turned down its application last year.

Stephen Kwok, the assistant director-general of the department, said: "We did receive an application for running the charter service by an airline but it withdrew its application later on."

582 seats on a 747-400? Just for comparison the most CX puts on a 744 is 383 people.

So watch out for the legroom folks! Doesn't sound like it would be too comfortable for full-sized people.

FYI -- their website is on www.metismacau.com

And, just to let everyone know -- this thread is being monitored for feedback on this airlines, by both the management of that airlines and by us.

OK when I do a search, I am brought to a page with a grid of blank squares, with one yellow square in the middle... Clicking on the squares does nothing... If someone from the company is reading this, please explain how to use your site!

Oh, and how do we get in on these promotional deals? I don't see any way to sign up for a newsletter or anything like that... Do I have to go through an agent to get in on the promotional business class seats?

lowlight : I suspect that might be unpopulated as they do not have any scheduled flights right now.
