Perhaps mix your whey protein with milk? All flavors taste like crap with water. I currently have rocky-road and chocolate-mint flavors and when mixed with milk they taste just like chocolate milk. Of course, this depends on your lactose tolerance.
Remember that protein shakes should only SUPPLEMENT, not replace, whole food sources of protein like eggs and poultry. You should consume 1.25 x your body weight(in US pounds) grams of protein a day. Anything more yields diminishing returns. I only have about two shakes a day: half a shake pre-workout, a post-workout shake, and half a casein shake before bed. I'm very happy with my gains.
