Hi All,
I've heard that joining a dragon boat race team can be really fun - very social in addition to excellent exercise. I'm interested in participating... does anyone know how to go about joining a team, preferably one that isn't too "hard core", since I'm a novice? (if those kind exist!)

My brother in law is in one of them Dragon boat teams. They train twice weekly (thursday evening and sunday morning) in sai kung. I was going to join but until I lose more weight it will be Titanic all over again.

A lot of people join teams run by their company, but if this is not an option there were a number of social teams racing last year at Stanley. Ask all round because as the race gets closer people will be looking for paddlers to make up the numbers in a boat. Try to contact the Stanley Dragon Boat Race organisers, who maybe able to put you in contact.
