Wireless Network

Hi.

I am a bit slow when it comes to computers but I'm trying to learn!!!

Heres my question...

I want to set up a wireless network at home. I have a wireless router which my laptop can recognise. What do I need to do next? Is it just a case of getting connected to any broadband service, plugging the router into the phone point and Bob's your uncle or is there a bit more to it than that.

Thanks for any help provided

If you are lucky, that's pretty much all there is too it. Many of the routers and laptops ship in a 'default' mode of open DHCP and connections via that, so I'd give it a shot and see if it works (note: you may have to restart the router, laptop, modem or all of the above after connecting it all up).

I've had them work 12 seconds out of the box, and I've had some take a day or so (passwords and the such).

Try it first, if that fails, read the instructions. :-)

If it is pccw you need to put your router in PPPoE mode as your ineternet connection type, put in your user name and password and away you go. Enable WEP or WPA(preferred) for security too.

Wi_Fi Skype

Hi,
I've used Skype on Broadband, and I like the service. So I just bought this Wi-fi Skype phone, which wireless connection should I use. Are there any good wireless options which work well with Skype.
