Kim chi

Anyone know any Korean stores that sell packaged kim chi? I know that City Super does, but it's very pricey and only available in small amounts.

They also sell the prepackaged ones that will be cheaper too.

I get my kimchi from Citysuper. The $38 bags are supposedly Korea's best-selling brand. Can't go wrong w/ that IMO

There are few Korean stores around Sheung Wan that sell packaged KimChi.

Go to TST look for Kimberley Road, there are several korean restaurant and supply stores in the section between Carnarvon road and Observatory road. Turn in observatory road and the junction near kimberley street, there are at least two more korean restaurant/stores that you can stay for quick snack, full meal, take away and have a excellent chat with the owners in korean if you know enough of the language.

any idea where in Sheung Wan? I live there, but haven't noticed any Korean stores. Or do you mean from the Korean restaurants?

Actually it is cheaper, tastier and a whole lot more fun to make your own

http://web.tiscali.it/Kyoko_Hayashi/let's_kimchi.htm

there are hundreds of receipes out there and you can only eat/make/give away so much, so there is never a need to go back to a receipe twice.
And who knows yours may be the ultimate KimChi!
