Question Lost in Kennedy Town!

Hi guys!!

I just moved yesterday from Canada to Manhattan Heights in Kennedy Town. Nice flat (pretty cold though), nice flatmate, perfect (despite the fact that Air Canada lost my suitcase... AGAIN )! Now I walked around today and I tried to get to the University of Hong Kong by walking on Pokfulam Road, but it takes ages to get to the top and I guess there's an easier way to go there. I saw between 2 buildings lots of stairs going up but I don't know if it goes all the way up there. Anyone can help me find the easiest way to go to HKU?

This question leads to another... You may ask yourself why I don't use a map to find my way... I just can't find the name of the streets in english!!! How do you know which street is which??

Apart from that, I really like to be here and having the chance to experience HK! I see that some of you guys are living in Manhattan Heights of close by in Kennety Town. Are you sometimes organising social gatherings? I feel I need a friend to hold my hand and explain me life here!

Thanks a lot!!

If you don't feel like walking up a bunch of stairs (as I normally don't), one option to get up to HKU is to walk over to the Westwood shopping mall, go up a couple of levels by escalator to the same floor that Pacific Coffee is on, and exit out by Pacific Coffee. There is a series of escalators there that will take you up the hill and bring you to Pokfulam Road and HKU.

And if you're looking for places to hang out in KT, we usually have a group of us that get together. Keep an eye on these posts, or feel free to IM me for the next time that we're planning on getting together.
