Hire a Car to Shenzhen?

I'm looking to hire a car and driver to get to Shenzhen with some visitors. Anyone done this before and have recommendations?

I'm actually also looking for a car hire with driver to go from HK to Shenzhen and back in a signle day. Any recommendations? I looked around on this old forums and haven't seen anyone talk about car companies that go across the border.

Alternatively, does someone know of a good car hire company that can rent a car and driver once I get to China either at HuangGang or at LuoHu?

I'm also looking for comfory transportation to/from Shenzhen. I remember airport has charter van/car goes from HK to any locations in Shenzhen for around $900 per trip. I'm sure they can do round trips from any loation in HK to any location in Shenzhen. If anyone works at the airport, please give us a contact.

we use a company that provides a Toyota Alphard or Nissan luxury van and charges us aprox 1k HKD per trip from anywhere in HK to shenzhen (all inclusive and fits 6 people). we also use him to drive our US office people all over Guandong province to visit factories, the cost is going to be a bit higher but its great and less stressful. if any body wants the contact details please pm.

thanks wtbhotia, this sounds great. does the 1K include the return to HK (i'm assuming they don't leave you stranded up there!). also, what is the immigration process like when you drive in... do you park and go through the lines you would when taking the train and walking?

1k is per single trip so return trip is 2K. if you want the vehicle for the whole day then its a different cost. We usually get dropped off in our SZ office and then get picked up in the afternoon to go back down again. sometime if we visit factories then it depends on the location for eg. Dongguan is 1.5K single trip. it might sound expensive but its a lot less hassle, , the vehilces are very comfortable and we do shove a lot of samples in the back to bring back to HK which saves on delivery costs.

Immigration process on HK Side is that you dont have to get off the vehicle when crossing over, just hand your passport or HKID to the driver and he will pass to immigration guy who will look into the car to verify. China side depends on the amount of traffic, somtimes its faster to get off and walk through or if its not busy then it will be the same as HK side process. U can leave your bags in the car and just cross the china border. less things to carry around. Hope this information help.

cheers
