The new strip of restaurants along TST East is quite a good bet on outdoor seating too.

The ferry does run from Tung Chung to Tai O - but it got taken over by a company other than NWFF so it's a bit more difficult to find the timetable... http://www.fortuneferry.com.hk/timetable_tuenmun.htm I don't disagree with you about the food at the China Bear - very basic pub grub - no more.

Thanks PDLM That's brilliant, the bus journey is dreadful so going on the ferry will make a huge difference.

in the city i can think of Knutsford terrace but u're looking at the backside of some apartments.. no view. but food and drink and price not bad. and very convenient just behind Miramar shopping mall in TST. Otherwise I would recommend the Peak for a gorgeous view.
