I was in a private club last nite and 2 women lit up in a stall in the ladies room. I shouted no smoking and they peeped out an OK. I followed to the members they were with and told the member his guests were smoking.

Intead of being a tattle tale to mgmt, I decided to go that route.
He was cool with it.

Thank god the ban is finally here! Now how about a TOTAL ban so i don't have to walk thru clouds of wafting smoke blown out by clueless, inconsiderate arseholes in front on me on the sidewalk. You wanna smoke...do it at home where the only person you are inflicting your filthy selfish habit on is yourself! Here endeth the sermon, amen

I see quite a few people from the Department of Health Tabacco Control Department out and about. I also feel the ban is being monitored and people respect it so far.

Interesting to note that Long Hair is against the ban as he feels banning smoking is targeting smokers. I normally love what this guys says, but does that mean he feels people under 18 should be able to gamble and drink also? Aren't we targeting minors? At least the government didn't outright ban smoking! In Bhutan it is illegal to sell, buy, or smoke whatsoever!

We've just discovered the Bars that have applied for the exemption are restricting entry to under 18s. We tried to go the Dickens Bar on Sunday for their buffet lunch and they turned us away when they saw our 5 year old. We've been there numerous times before with him and other kids.

This is a legal requirement - if you are granted the exemption then you must deny entry to under-18s.

I've never understood why parents who would do anything to protect their kids from danger...will then turn around and smoke in front of them. SELFISH!

Apparently a couple of pubs are using the tactic of allowing smoking during the week and going non-smoking on Sundays / Saturday day time and letting parents / kids in.
