Lightbulb Where should I stay ?

Happy New Year !!

I' about to move to HK in a month or so, from Europe.
Could you help me out cc the best place I should move to, knowing that:
-I'm airline crew, long haul, so I need to go to the airport, day or night, about 4 times a month. (anything within 60 min by public transport ok, if convenient (suitcase), and 24/7 )
- I'm 39, and will be moving with my girlfriend.
- I don't want to use a car (at home, living in a city, I use MTR most of the time, if not bicycle )
-I do want some quietness, see at least some threes, but also want to have a supermarket, a grocery stoor, and maybe pool and tennis within walking distance ( ok, tennis might be a few mtr or ferry stations away..). Outdoor activities and pollutionfree would be nice...
- I accept to be, let's say, 45 ' away from central (outside peakhrs), but want to be able to reach it by public transport without changing bus to mtr to ferry... With those public transport running at least untill midnight.
- Finally, I'd like a place that is , maybe 1000 to 1200 sqm. Upperfloor of a house, or residantial tower, whatever...
- Rent btwn 0 and 20 K

Anyone to help me ? (So I know where to look, and what I should be looking for....)
Thanks a lot
Xavier

-To summarize, out of the city, but with everything the city can offer closeby... ( a dreamer ? noooooooooooo). And not really looking for an expats' camp.

Maybe Tung Chung?

Out of the city, close to the airport, on the MTR (subway) line (less than 45 mins direct to Central), see a lot of greenery and some of the developments there have clubhouses with facilities.

Pollution ain't great but you can't have it all

Dbay ?

Any stop in the AirPort express Line can be Ok: Tung Chung, Tsing Yi, Kowloon Station, Central.
Any others option is discovery bay if you want to have more quiet environment and very expat feeling. Ferry run to central and Bus to the airport. DB got all the facility, Tennis, Pool...

P.S: Bienvenue a Hong Kong.

Park Island may suit you. You could catch the shuttle bus to Tsingyi and there's the airport express there. Takes about 30 mins on ferry to get to Central pier. I'm paying 8400 for 700 square feet. Pretty sure you can get 1000 square feet for about 10 000 or around that figure. Ferry runs 24 hours and so does shuttle buses. If taking the ferry bothers you, you could take the shuttle bus to Tsingyi and then catch the mtr. It'll take you about 30 mins to get to Central as well. Oh....just read that you don't want the hassle of changing from bus to mtr...

Thank You so much for those info's. At this point, I still don't know if the company is going to help on that, so I guess I'll take a few days to visit all those places!!
3 more questions if I may:
1- I've found on a map where Tung Chung, DB, and Tsing Yi are, but didn't find Park Island. And no gps here... Any help ?
2- Is the MTR running 24/7 ( Central to Tung Chung..)
3- One of you was mentioning pollution in T C. Is it different from one place to another?

Thanks a lot ! If all the people living there are so helpful, it should be The place to be !!

Cheers,

Xavier

Merci ! A +

Park Island is on a little island, Ma Wan. You can catch a shuttle bus from Tsingyi MTR station.

Kowloon Station is very ideal for airline crews:-
- less then 30 minutes to get to Airport
- 1 MTR stop to Central and
- 1 MTR stop to Olympic Station for Supermarket or few minutes taxi ride to get City Super at TST for dining and shopping.

Just one problem, 20K budget is a bit too tight for the size needed.

The Tung Chung location traps the wind blow from mainland China manufacturing districts. Residents in there has been very concerned about the air pollution. Some has moved to Discovery Bay even though this location is less convinent.
