Any good water filter?

Hi All, The water in my apartment has some strange smell. I would like to buy a water filter. Does anyone has any good recommendations?

I saw that some filters use long infra-red and uv light for killing bacteria. Does anyone know whether these are good? Thanks for your reply.

Hi,

You may want to try the one I have at home. I brought it from the company I worked 10 yrs ago and their products is very good and professional as Coco Cola and Mcdonalds also using their water treatment system.

You can browse this web site to know more about the products - www.everpure.com. The system has cut-off function so you know when to change an new cartidage.

The problem of UV light is the light tube wont in its high performance after using a period of time and you dont know when to change an new light tube. In fact, all the chemicals in the water can't be treated by the UV light and it needs to good ativated carbon.

The model I use is H-104 and it is very small just installed under the kitchen. I have the catelogue if you want me to email to you. Please provide you the address.

Regards,
Rachel

Hi Rachel

Thanks for the advice. However, the Everpure H-104 that you are using is not good enough. You need the Everpure H-300 at the minimum to filter out VOCs and THMs. Otherwise, RO systems are better.

as a note, UV light treatments are quite effective against bacteria and organisms, however it doesn't filter as it efficiently should.

Hi Sghkcn,

You are right. I have been struggling whether to up-grade and use H-300 by simply to purchase the cartridge when i know about what is THMs from other articles. But, in my building, the water pressure is not very good to support for this delicate model so I'm still using HT-104 and it's not that easy to get H-300 from the HK agent.

In fact, there is no perfect situation to get the best water all the time for a person like me travel a lot to the factories in China or dining out often but I do want to have better taste of mummy's soup by using cleaner water ;-) Especially, I have my baby nephew with me during the day time and I think he deserves to have better water for his meal, hahahaha...

I know a bit about RO system and UV light and the bad that to drinking distill water for long period of time.

Cheers!
Rach

I use a Brita filter at home. With all the chlorine and fluoride in the water, microorganisms aren't a problem. The chemicals in the water supply and rust are what we need to worry about
