Question Will only have dial up , Wi Fi an option?

Hi will be setting up in Lam Tsuen over the next couple weeks and it seems my new place is dial up access only.
Is wireless possible?
What would you do?
I am new to wireless and so I am a bit confused as to how to set it up.
I have been spoiled by broadband !
If someone could help me figure out how to set up wireless I would be grateful.

I have been to the Linksys site in the US as I am here at the moment. I see the HK site is only in Chinese?
Thanks and Happy New Year!

If you only have dialup a linksys router would do you no good. You would probably need something like this.

Whilst we rarely consult for individuals, we might be able to help you here but it depends on where your home is in Lam Tsuen. Do you have any line of sight to any place where there might be internet access even if it is like 10-20Km away? Do you have line of sight down to Hong lok Yuen?

How much are you willing to pay for an installation and month to get decent speeds?

There are 3 different solutions, I can think off.

Thumbs up Thank you

I will check that link.

Hk thanks for the reply!
I do know that houses near me have bb, but their cable is full to new users? I think it just hasn;t reached my house yet.
I can't say line of sight at the moment as my friend is getting the house ready for me now and I won't be there till the 24th.
It is near or in the hong lock yuen area.

What I'll pay?
What I need to in order to get a fast connection that is reliable.
Also trying to check out the tv options.
Thanks!

doesn't sound you've got a problem then if you neighbours have broadband.

Run a cat5 cable over the fence and buy them some beers or seafood and be done with it.

cheers good luck.

ummm don't understand why you can't apply for a broadband in your house when your neighbors has it..

worst case scenario is to apply for voda wireless broadband..
i think it cost about 2.5k for the USB plus usage fee
(i know its alot, but if you can't get internet else where that’s your quality choice.)

If the area is very remote, I would be very careful about putting down the $2-3K for a wireless USB modem, unless there is a guarantee that the 3G signal is available.
