Webcam for Mac

hi

i just bought a webcam from a store on Nathans Road - a Philips SPC505NC but the installation cd does not run automatically when inserted. Worried that i have just bought something which won't work on an apple mac (got an iBook G4 laptop).

The quick start guide says not to connect the webcam until the cd has been run - would it do any damage to just attach the webcam anyway to see if it works?

Any thoughts would be gratefully received!

Thanks

Plug it in and see. It won't hurt. Boot up ichat and see if you get a video link. Is it firewire or USB?

Take a look here too

thanks Penguinsix - i went to the link you gave me and downloaded their OS-X driver and plugged in my webcam but it still isn't recognised. I have emailed SourceForge to see if they can help! Thanks for the reply though
