Finding a job as a english tutor My husband is an American and he is 52 years old. He does not have any teaching certificate. I wonder if there is any possibilities for him to be a tutor? He is desperated to get a job. What he studied in the university is "Political Science". Hope to get some ideas or suggestions from you guys. Thanks!

Try searching on these sites, that's how I got work teaching in HK. http://www.classifiedpost.com http://www.eslcafe.com/ Or he could apply for the governments Native English Teachers scheme. http://www.emb.gov.hk/index.aspx?nodeID=262&langno=1 Good luck.

I'd recommend Esl cafe as well, people on there put me in touch with these guys http://www.onlinetefl.com/. They helped me get a job in Thailand a few years back. I didnt even have a degree so I'd imagine your husband will have a significant advantage! Good luck.

Thanks! Thank you 'Cheesindave' and 'Jason D'. I will ask him to go to those web site and take a look. But I am sure that he cannot be a NET in HK since he doesn't have a certificate to teach English! :0(

TEFL certificate takes 40 hours to do online and almost promises your husband a job.
