Netvigator in Sha Tin area is still useless! Although I can get Geo. Our Wharf connection at work is pretty much ok though so no real problems there. When at home I'm using my People's data connection on the PDA for things like Hotmail, etc until all sorted.

During the last few days, Surprisingly, my blackberry internet service (BIS) was working all the time. I would have assumed that the mobile operator would be using the same network.

I think the telco operators run their back end operations through someone like Sita/Equant.

I see only a few people have figured out the password to use our Proxy servers. Come on guys.

In this article in todays Standard there another hint as to what the password is... :-)
http://www.thestandard.com.hk/news_d...d_str=20061230

Please note that we are only going to provide this during the holidays and as long our network does not get flooded. So far there is plenty of spare capacity! Get browsing guys! Its free.

BTW, for those of you who are on ISPs that DNS is failing to find the IP of the proxy server, you can enter the server's IP address: 152.104.8.15 instead www.mailme.hk.com

I found it thanks.

Had an easier way but my internet woes were much worse at home than at work so I have had REALLY patchy internet here.

Thanks for the help Maren!

It looks like your connection to one of my banking websites isn't much better than Netvigator's though... It's loading though... verrrrrrrry slowly. But at least I can pay my bills!

From what I can see it's running squid (a web caching proxy). So the first access to the site will probably be slow, but I think afterwards it should seem faster as it will be cached on the server.

Anyway, thanks hk.com for providing this service!
