Question Sourcing Pet Health Products on the Internet

Dear Forum members,

First of all, this is my first posting and secondly, Merry Chrismas to all!

My query is pretty straight forward:
Is it possible to source pet health products such as Frontline, Revolution, Capstar, Malaseb, Epiotic, Piss-Off, scrump on the internet in HK?

Are products like Advantage, Advantix, Advocate, Sentinel Spectrum, Interceptor Spectrum or any use and/or registered in HK? I was once told that Proheart is not registered, but it is widely used by vets, is it still the case?

Will appreciate your answers.

Thank you in advance!

Torito

Don't think there's any HK companies doing it as far as I know but heard of people using Australian internet companies.

Had a look at one company - seems feasible and they do export outside of Australia but didn't say specifically if will import to HK.

Re-the list of other drugs - not aware of anyone using in HK but I'm sure there are some clinics that do.

What function are you looking for as most of your first list covers the same things as the drugs in the second list???

Registration here in HK is sl vague compared to other countries as far as I can work out.
They don't seen to register specfic brands just the active ingredient - if ingredient registered to be used in HK then should be ok.
Active ingredient in proheart is registered now but don't know when.

PC_Man,

Thank you for the reply.
You brought up something interesting in your reply, re: the first list would pretty much cover the subsequent list.
Would be interesting to know if some of your clients have mentioned to you about the latter products.

PC Man,

That was a coincidence hey?
As you probably know, most counter proudcts are advertised on bill boards and TV in some countries and your travelling clients would see the adverts. I am sure that is still not possible in HK as most of the products that would be considered over-the counter elsewhere are indeed prescription type drugs in HK.
Now going back to the original question, do your clients some times hint about sourcing products on the net?

Probably not appropriate to ask openly, but would be good to know your vet office.

Strange these coincidences...

Aware of advertising and different rules in different countries - HK is based on Uk (which is what I know better) but seems a lot more lax on actually enforcing the rules (can buy prescription meds at human pharmacies w/o prescription sometimes...).

Theoretically should only be able to get from a vet but know people get from lots of other sources.

Do hear of people getting products from USA or Oz but not sure if by internet or hand carried.
Again theoretically illegal (parallel importing I gather - same applies to DVDs/CDs etc) but never heard of it enforced...

Will try to work out this PM part for location.
