EU Passport -Place of issue- HK or China?

Hi!
I need your advice to the following:

My EU-passport will expire in 4 month. I can apply for a new one in Hong Kong or China (e.g. Shanghai).
The new passport will show the place of issue. Hong Kong or e.g. Shanghai

Are there any pro´s or con´s when place of issue is Hong Kong?

What i was thinking about is:

- easier to get HK-Visa (no need now, but maybe in the future)
- Creditcard scoring HK Banks
...

My personal background:
- own a HK company
- give up permanent residence in EU
- 60% of my time i stay in China (Business F Visa)
- 10% Hong Kong
- 30% Europe

Thanks for your input and help...

Makes no difference to either immigration or the banks as to where your passport was issued!

Immigration will judge a visa application on it's merits alone - and bank accounts can be opened using passport, although not as easy as opening an account as an HK ID card holder.

Credit scoring : Hong Kong permanent ID is a factor used by some banks.. passport issue location is irrelevant (not even looked at..)

Rest .. does not make a difference.

HKChigger: I give up my permanent resident in the EU not my nationality. So i can apply at every german embassy in China/HK for a new passport without problem.

Because residency and citizenship are two different things.

[pedant]There is only one German embassy in China, and that is in Beijing. There are consulates in some other cities (including Hong Kong)[/pedant]
